Some (but not enough) relief for Australia

Everyone knows all too well the about the water shortage troubles that are affecting most of Australia. Three years in a row with little and in some cases no rainfall, has taken a toll on commercial crops (ie. wheat, sugar), and the economic infrastructure that depends on a somewhat reliable supply. Looking forward, there is reason for cautious optimism, as some fronts, such as the one shown in the current satellite image, with relatively modest moisture totals have been helping the parched interior; unfortunataly, the tropical cyclone to the east (Gene) won't do much to help other than coastal Queensland and possibly northern NSW.
